As we grew the organization it became clear that we were going to have to promote people from within and/or hire from the outside. While this may not seem like a safety topic per say- my objective today is to guide you through a thought process of how leadership and in this case how to develop leaders within your organization in safety. Many times, the thoughts are not there for developing leaders in safety or the idea is that these are the people that follow or enforce the safety rules really well and they will make the best leaders of safety within the organization. Take it from the HR director I want to put a few more thoughts in your head to first think about your own style of leadership as well as the culture of your organization and what would make a great safety (or really any leader) within your organization.
