This presentation addresses key risk management strategies for water treatment and supply systems, through the framework of a Water Safety Plan which every system should have in place. Highlighted strategies include identifying operational monitoring parameters, applying monitoring and maintenance approaches, implementing control measures and emergency preparedness measures. Strategies are identified to ensure that there is early detection and curtailment of contamination issues and other threats, and Operators can consistently provide safe and clean water. Examples of the highlighted strategies and their respective benefits will be discussed.
