Speaker: Steve Smith, Manager, Environmental Issues, Lyondell Chemical Company
Per the court-mandated timeline, the EPA is currently working through the statutorily-required risk and technology review (RTR) for 33 source categories. The ethylene process, miscellaneous organic chemical manufacturing processes, organic liquid distribution facilities, and site remediation, are four of the source categories that are being reviewed. It is anticipated proposed rules will published in late 2018. The final rules are targeted for promulgation March 2020 with an effective date of March 2023. This presentation will discuss the RTR process and possible proposed rules.
