Discuss potential causes for a floating roof collapse.
Review methods for inspecting and safely secure a floating roof in an above ground storage tank.
1. Review Design of Floating Roof Supports.
2. Inspection process and what to inspect.
    a. Support legs, sleeves and pins.
   b. Bent or damaged legs.
   c. Severally corroded outer rim and pontoons covers.
  d. Accumulation of water on floating roof and in pontoons

3. Preparation and installation of safety devices.
   a. Vertical supports
   b. Lateral supports
  c. Anti-rotation cables or chains.
4. Precautions
   a. Mobile equipment under the floating roof.
   b. Daily checks on previously installed safety devices.
   c. Modifications to the floating roof.
   d. Weather
