Implementation of an Effective Hazard Recognition Course (Thursday)
Bayer MaterialScience, LLC
In 2008, Bayer MaterialScience had 14 OSHA recordables, more than doubling the entire number from previous years. The major root cause for these recordables was individual decisions to act without recognizing the potential hazards associated with those actions. This in turn led to a paradigm shift in our way of looking at Hazard Recognition.
This seminar will cover the basic reasoning and ways we came up with our Hazard Recognition course for the site. From the initial concept phase of developing the idea to how we structured the course, including what topics we used for the course. We will give you a basic outline for the implementation of the course to fit your site needs. You will hear from a multitude of instructors from all different areas of expertise in the plant.
Our site Hazard Recognition course was recognized as a Best Practice in our 2011 OSHA VPP audit. We have had representatives from multiple companies sit in on our course, and now been invited to share at the TCC convention for the past 2 years.
Please join us at the TCC convention June 6th, 2013 for your opportunity to see great Hazard Recognition in action!
