How to Conduct an Effective EHS System Audit

One of the most important tools for the EHS professional is the audit. How do you know your EHS system is effective? You cannot judge safety by the incidence rate because incidence rates are a poor measure of safety performance. Instead, an audit must be conducted. But most EHS professionals really are not trained to conduct an effective audit. This one day workshop is intended to take participants through the audit process showing them what to look for and how to do it. What records should be reviewed? Who should be interviewed? How is all the information collected and put into a report that makes sense? The workshop includes a virtual plant walk-through using a collection of pictures in Power Point format.

Maximizing Safety in a Slow Economy

How does an employer reduce worker injuries in a slow economy? Most employers are looking for ways to reduce cost, many of which are going to the drastic measure of reducing the size of the EHS staff. Whether reducing staff or expanding, any employer can realize a 40-50 percent reduction in worker injuries in less than a year simply by tapping into their single greatest resource-their workers. This presentation is intended to compliment the past presentations at TCC/ACIT EHS conferences on using hazard recognition techniques. It is designed to show participants how to engage workers enabling the employer to reduce worker injuries and improve OSHA compliance.
