Techniques for Hazard Recognition

Even organizations with the best safety and health systems can overlook hazards. This session will provide a description of 25 to 30 different hazard recognition techniques. The session will conclude with five practical techniques that can be used in the field. Participants will practice these techniques through pictures and discussion.

Peer Pressure — Cause and Prevention of Injuries

The most significant cause of risky workplace behavior is peer pressure. Employees will adjust behavior to the current culture and either employ risk or safe work habits to "fit in" with the team. This session shows leaders why and how we continue to experience incidents regardless of the current safety program in place. Proven methods to inspire workers to promote safety and avoid risk on the job will be shared, and the Roman factor, Step It Up, Generations for Safety, Super-Operators and more will be discussed.
