Safety Councils work for petrochemical plants and their contractors to facilitate innovative ways to reduce incident rates resulting in a 95% reduction in recordables. 2017 marked an evolution in Safety Council deliverables, slowly migrating away from site specific training to develop new workforce compliance and risk management processes. Working within the industry we developed several internationally recognized Best Practices for contractor compliance, risk management, labor cost management. ISTC collaborated with our partners bringing years of quantitative data to identify problems that are developing, have occurred in the workplace and formulating solutions, cost structures and most importantly compliance management to combat workforce issues. The presentation highlights the journey from identifying the problems, and the associated issues with hiring, compliance, auditing, accident response and even Department of Homeland Security, CFATS and others
