Emergency Response Communications and Lessons Learned Following an Explosion
Keith Bennett, Manager Plant Protection, Eastman Chemical
Room Location TBD
Learn about changes Eastman Chemical made to their Emergency Operation Center and emergency response protocols following an explosion at their Tennessee facility in October 2017. With 10,000 employees and contractors working at this site, effective emergency response communication is critical. Improvements in the chain of command, communication with employees and contractors and robust processes for effective communication with neighbors and the community will be discussed. EOC design, roles and responsibilities, tools, and technology will be reviewed along with EOC staffing, training and support plans. A strategy for effective tabletop exercises will also be presented.
