Developing Corporate Risk Analysis Guidelines for Process Risk Mitigation in PHAs
Floral A1
Speaker: Tina Gray, Sr. Project Manager, GHD Services, Inc.
Conducting a Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) has become industry standard practice for facilities regulated by OSHA PSM or EPA RMP. PHAs are essential when designing new processes, evaluating process modifications, or at regular revalidation intervals. The PHA is used to identify and evaluate hazards associated with a process and identify methods to control these risks. A generic risk matrix may be insufficient to address your company's risk tolerance, inadvertently putting millions of dollars of investment or corporate reputation on the line. Selecting an appropriate risk matrix prior to conducting a PHA is vital to risk mitigation. This session will discuss how to develop PHA risk analysis guidelines, including considerations for risk tolerance discussions to meet the needs of stakeholders and corporate governance, and the incorporation of company-specific risk guidelines into PHAs.
