When we communicate, the words we choose are important but there is so much more beyond that: how we say it, our body language, time, and space -- all comprise the full message. Miscommunication can occur when we choose the wrong words but also occurs when nonverbal communication is missing or contradicts the verbal message. How we communicate is expanding - social media, texting, online meetings, webinars, etc. These methods of communication sometimes pose additional challenges in communicating effectively because nonverbal communication is diminished or nonexistent.
