PSM, RMP and YOU! Owning (and Understanding) PSM and RMP

Tina Gray, Sr. Project Manager, GHD Services, Inc.

Floral A1

OSHA’s PSM standard and EPA’s RMP regulations are two major programs with which many facilities must comply. These rules may seem to be prescriptive and detailed, but there are nuances and implications to understanding how the programs work separately and together. Understanding the similarities, differences and nuances between PSM and RMP is important to establishing and maintaining compliance. This session will focus on understanding the PSM and RMP programs, how they have evolved, where the programs are going and how to proactively stay on top of the changes. We will talk about things that may vary between implementation at a small company versus a multi-national company. We will discuss the regulations and standards vs Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP). You will leave this session with a better understanding of how the regulations, standards and RAGAGEP work together to minimize risk to workers and the general public.
