Accidental Releases: Dotting Your I's - Crossing Your T's

Bob Presley, Technical Leader/PSM_RMP Services, Burns & McDonnell

Floral B

Best Management Practices learned the hard way, based on PSM/RMP work at over 200 facilities across the United States. Observations from this work will address challenges faced by both small and large organizations, highlighting both the problem and the corrective action. Will also share insights based on interaction with OSHA, EPA, and State Regulatory Authorities and what they see as both low hanging fruit that facilities overlook and more serious chronic shortcomings. Presentation will review the interface of other regulations with RMP/ PSM requirements and how inconsistent reporting can easily raise red flags. Some easy checks for reporting consistency will be shared. Final focus will be on laying out an effective PSM program with simple cost-effective solutions to establish a safe, compliant program.
