Reducing Human Error

Mark Galley, President and Instructor, ThinkReliability

Expo A3

The human condition is constant - no one is perfect. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to perform a task a hundred, or even a thousand, times without a negative outcome. The person performing work is obviously central to what’s referred to as human factors, but the task, the tools and the environment are also part of that system. Solutions that significantly reduce error rates focus on the system, rather than the person. This presentation will explain the different elements that affect how people perform work and provide examples of what some groups do in order to lower error rates.
