Your Health is Your Wealth

Expo A2

Speaker: Stacy Byrd, Owner, Business Health Partners

A health workforce is essential to any successful business. In an Occupational Health environment our industry is aware of keeping their employees safe to eliminate injuries, which keeps our people on the job. The heavy industry we are all associated with has done a phenomenal job reducing the number of incidents in the past 20 years, but there is an area left unchecked, that’s the personal health considerations of the individual. Our industry has thought in terms of “work related” or “personal” issues with all our focus on work related. There are numerous cases of an unhealthy worker being tied to an increased rate of accidents. Therefore, to continue our goal of eliminating work related incidents we need to consider the personal health of our workforce and how it’s affecting our performance.

Unhealthy workers cost themselves money with missed work days and money spent for treatment. They also cost the company money with higher insurance rates for frequency of use as well as absenteeism. Our goal is to educate everyone on ways to eliminate unnecessary spending by keeping themselves and the workforce healthy.
