Speaker: Rukyah Hennessey, Engineering Specialist, American Institute of Chemical Engineers
In 2016 the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) was awarded the United Engineering Foundation’s Risk not Chance grant to produce videos that provide risk awareness outreach to three key stakeholder groups: STEM Students, First Responders and the local community. The objective of these 3 videos was to increase the public’s understanding of how risk plays a role in our everyday lives, how it can be misunderstood and how we use it to make decisions every day. AIChE used the grant money in 2017 to create three short videos for Risk not Chance, and will present them to help our colleagues spread the message about risk and increase community outreach.
