Presentation provides behind the scenes history of numerous preventable accidents & illnesses starting with the sinking of the SS Titanic. Additional examples of preventable accidents and workplace illnesses from 50 years in the safety and health industry.

Presentation will identify the needed recognition, evaluation and control hazards and will place emphasis on the importance for continual attention to detail to include observation skills needed to identify the signs and symptoms of preventable and regrettable accidents and illness that result in death or permanent disabilities. 

Discuss the importance of involvement from management, supervision, and front line workers.  Case studies from the past 6 years include a refinery fire & explosion causing catastrophic damage to community and death, chemical plant release of a single airborne contaminant resulting in death of multiple workers, and a furniture manufacture applying a chemical causing permanent damage to workers’ health.
