How to Make Employees Make the Right Decisions in Safety

Jim Spigener, Chief Client Officer, DEKRA

Expo A2

Safety leaders are responsible for all aspects of safety within their organization. Everything from the environment to the processes matter in strengthening the safety culture One of those factors is decision-making — How workers respond to exposure. What can be done every time to make sure they are making the decision that will protect themselves and others?    This session will present a new methodology for helping employees make better decisions about handling exposure they encounter in the field. In almost every case when an employee has an injury they only recognize the exposure after the incident. The reactive problem needs to be addressed. Workers need to know, when they encounter that exposure, which decision is best for safety. This session will explore a more practical approach that will move the needle on decisions made at the front line.
